New Domino's location to open on Airport Boulevard, and more businesses coming to North Austin

1. Pizza chain Domino’s will open a new location at 6929 Airport Blvd., Ste. 100, Austin. A Domino’s representative said the restaurant is slated to open near the end of 2021. The location will be owned and operated by Kris Sanches. www.dominos.com

2. Popular South Austin food truck Brooklyn Breakfast Shop will open a location inside the Prep ATX ghost kitchen at 1300 E. Anderson Lane, Bldg. D, Austin, this fall. In addition to the breakfast sandwiches Brooklyn Breakfast shop is known for, chef Ryan Rosen will also serve up a lunch and dinner menu, including burgers and fried chicken sandwiches, at the new location. 737-229-0808. www.brooklynbreakfastshop.co

3. Grand Living at the Grove, a new senior living community from Ryan Companies, will break ground in the summer of 2022 at the corner of Bull Creek Road and Jackson Avenue. The 260,000-square-foot community will include 186 independent and assisted living units, and 34 memory care units. Construction is expected to wrap up by late 2023. www.ryancompanies.com

4. Mother and son Jin and Nelson Lin will bring Soup Leaf Hot Pot to 6929 Airport Blvd., Austin, in May. Jin, who has owned several restaurants in California, is moving to Austin to be with Nelson, a local real estate developer. The restaurant will offer buffet-style hot pot. The pair is testing out other menu items, such as a possible lychee margarita.

5. Spirit Halloween, the holiday-themed chain of pop-up stores, has opened a location at 7727 Burnet Road, Austin, in the North Star Shopping Center for the Halloween season. Each year, Spirit Halloween opens approximately 1,400 locations at strip malls and other spots around the United States and Canada beginning in early August, selling costumes and themed decor. Additional Spirit Halloween stores in Austin are located at 5467 N. I-35, 500 W. Canyon Ridge Drive and at the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center in Southwest Austin. 6. Waxxpot, a waxing salon providing full body waxing services, will open at a third Austin location by early fall at 4001 N. Lamar Blvd. in the Central Park Shopping Center. Franchise owners Stephanie and Tom Sloss chose this location due to the area’s rapid growth and proximity to retail and medical offices, according to a news release. Waxxpot provides waxing services for men and women, ranging from body and facial waxing to lash lifts and tints. The other two Austin locations are located at 830 W. 3rd St. and 4211 S.
