The LBJ Presidential Library this month will welcome guests in person for the first time since last March with a new, limited-run exhibit centered on Lady Bird Johnson, the LBJ Presidential Library & Foundation announced June 28.
The library and museum, located at 2313 Red River St., Austin, is now set to reopen July 14. The facility will operate under limited capacity this summer and will require guests to schedule their visits in advance.
The library will initially be open Wednesdays through Sundays—a schedule that may expand later this summer—and tickets for timed visits in two-hour blocks will first be made available July 5. Visiting windows run from 10 a.m. to noon, noon to 2 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
"It's truly a pleasure to be opening our doors again after so many challenging months,” LBJ Library Director Mark Lawrence said in a statement. “Health and safety remain our highest priorities, but we are confident that our procedures will keep everyone safe while enabling visitors to see our permanent displays on the Johnson presidency along with our brand-new temporary exhibit, 'Lady Bird: Beyond the Wildflowers.'"
