6. TenTen, a Japanese restaurant focusing on sushi; sashimi; and robata, or fireside cooking, opened in the refurbished Miller Blueprint building at 501 W. Sixth St., Austin, on Jan. 13. 8. Luxury hotel Austin Proper opened Dec. 16 at 600 W. Second St. along with its restaurant, The Peacock, and bar, Goldie’s, both of which are helmed by local firm McGuire Moorman Hospitality. The locally based cookie delivery company began when Tiffany Taylor stood up fellow University of Texas at Austin student Leon Chen for a date.
