Salt Traders Coastal Cooking marks a decade in business, Conejos Tex-Mex Cantina expanded into Round Rock with Cedar Park next on deck, and Bastrop's Sendero shopping center welcomed both Chicago-style pizza and scratch-made breakfast, all part of a busy August for Austin-area dining.
Elsewhere, Korean yubu debuted in West Campus, a Florida butcher shop opened in Cedar Park and East Sixth Street picked up a Mexican-Southeast Asian fusion newcomer.

Salt Traders Coastal Cooking is marking a decade in business with a $10 special through Sept. 17, including a drink and bar-snack item. The seafood spot offers oysters, crudo and nigiri, with locations in Austin and Round Rock and a third coming soon to Cedar Park.

Founded by army veteran Daniel Monplaisir, Good BBQ Company now operates a second location at Lake Travis Biergarten in Hudson Bend. The barbecue joint serves pulled pork, ribs, brisket and smoked sausage, plus catering and an existing east Austin food truck.

A Dallas-born Korean concept, Neko Yubu now serves West Campus. Owned by Dean Kim and Connor Park, it specializes in yubu—fried tofu skins stuffed with rice and toppings like egg salad or tuna—alongside miso soup, tteokbokki and Korean iced coffees.

Florida-based butcher shop Southern Steer now operates in Cedar Park. The market sells artisanal poultry and pork cuts, prepared sides, seasonings and marinades, and runs a Dry Aging Program letting customers reserve space with a custom nameplate.

Resurrecting the spirit of Austin's original Shady Grove, A Little Shady now serves Kyle. The fast-casual spot offers nostalgic favorites like green chile cheese fries and hippie sandwiches, plus new items and handcrafted cocktails served in souvenir cups.

Now open in Round Rock, Conejos Tex-Mex Cantina marks the brand's second location. Co-owner Bobby Hernandez expects a third, in Cedar Park, to open in October or November. The menu blends Mexican staples with Tex-Mex flair, including tacos, fajitas and enchiladas.

A family-owned Southeast Asian concept, Limegreen now serves Leander's Southbrook Station. The Chipotle-style eatery offers customizable banh mi and bowls, with grand-opening proceeds benefiting flood-affected families via the Universal Angels Network.

Now open in its second Austin location, Local Foods serves lunch, dinner, cocktails and coffee, with weekend brunch coming in September. Led by Martin Berson, Benjy Levit and Dylan Murray, the location's exclusives include a Borracho Beef Sandwich and a salmon poke bowl.

Now open in Bastrop, Toasted Yolk Cafe serves scratch-made breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes including eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, and brisket tacos. Its opening followed a fundraiser benefiting Bastrop County Cares.
