The Toasted Yolk Cafe will give Bastrop a sneak peek ahead of its Aug. 24 opening with a two-day fundraiser benefiting Bastrop County Cares.
What’s happening
Curious diners can check out the new brunch space Aug. 21 and Aug. 22 from 8 a.m. till noon. Instead of paying for their meals, they can donate to Bastrop County Cares—a collective-impact nonprofit that works to connect, collaborate and catalyze solutions to aid residents.

Franchisee Josh Ellis—who opened Crust Pizza Co. on Aug. 12—said he selected BCC because of the organization’s ability to help a broad range of Bastrop County residents.
"We’re thankful for the opportunity to be part of this special occasion and to connect with our community as we welcome a new local business to Bastrop," said BCC spokesperson Bryleigh MacGregor.
Something to note
Those interested in dining during the Aug. 21-22 fundraising event are required to book a reservation online here.

What they offer
As previously reported by Community Impact, the Texas-based restaurant specializes in scratch-made breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, including eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, brisket tacos, sandwiches, salads and burgers.

One more thing
Ellis said Bastrop’s charm helped draw him to the area.
“It's got that small-town, real community feel to it,” he said. “And I hope it stays that way.”
