Austin City Council voted in favor of two redevelopment plans at the March 3 meeting.
The property located at 815 W. 11th St. is occupied as single-family residential use. The council approved the area to be rezoned for a mixed use of commercial and residential use.
The other redevelopment is located near the southeast corner of West 35th Street and Jefferson Street, where a Burger King used to be. That building is 2,900 square feet, and it is on a 0.16-acre lot. The council approved the rezoning plan to tear down the old Burger King building, combine it with adjacent land, and construct a building with 36,000 square feet of office space and 5,000 square feet of commercial space. A building height of up to 60 feet is permitted.
