Austin City Council District 3 includes parts of East Austin, Southeast Austin and South Austin, according to data provided by Ryan Robinson, city of Austin demographer, as part of a presentation in November.
The district is about 17 square miles in size. Part of its boundaries extend along the north side of Ben White Boulevard, and it features areas including Austin's Battle Bend, St. Edwards, Riverside, Montopolis and Govalle neighborhoods.
More than 60.8 percent of residents in District 3 identify themselves as Hispanic, 26.6 percent said they are white, 8 percent said they are African-American, 2.8 percent said they are Asian and 1.8 percent identified as "Other," according to the city's data.
The same presentation shows District 3 is the third-most densely populated district in Austin as measured in people by acre.
