Pedernales Electric Cooperative crews are still continuing to respond to several power outages across the Hill Country region due to the severe ice accumulation in the previous few days.
Due to the amount of outages, it will be difficult to estimate power restoration times, according to a Feb. 2 press release. Repairs are projected to extend into the evening on Feb. 3 as some outages may require extensive work.
As of 11 a.m., nearly 90% of PEC members have power, but outages are expected to continue, according to the release. There were a total of 3,567 power outages, affecting 70,540 meters as of 2:46 p.m.
In the Cedar Park area, power outages were reported at 11,592 of the total 80,761 served by PEC. There are a total of 117,796 meters served in Williamson County with 26,306 reported outages.
