Williamson County Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long—who represents most of Cedar Park and Leander, as well as Liberty Hill and part of Austin—was elected vice chair of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization by the organization’s policy board, according to a Feb. 14 statement from the county. CAMPO is the regional transportation planning agency for Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties. The organization distributes funding for regional projects, such as a project to extend New Hope Drive in Cedar Park from Ronald Reagan Boulevard to CR 175. Long has represented Williamson County on the 20-person CAMPO transportation policy board since 2007, according to the county statement.
