Leander City Council will consider two concept plan options for Old Town Park at its Nov. 19 meeting.
Old Town Park will be located on a 0.82-acre lot on West South Street next to City Hall in Leander. City Council previously discussed the park as a way to attract businesses and restaurants to Leander’s Old Town District.
According to design documents, both options will have a stage with retractable shade, activity lawns, a tower, a water fountain array, donor brick pavements, parking and a drop-off area. The first option adds a sunken detention/amphitheater, street-side seating, mural walls, a sloped activity lawn, a landmark tower, a dining plaza, a container shop and a gateway monument. The second option adds a vendor/dining alley, an activity lawn, an artistic history wall, a water tower, a grass mound and an outdoor seating area.
Future park events include the annual Old Town Street Festival, the Leander Christmas Festival and Parade, and movie screenings.
