A newly approved zoning change will allow for more restaurants and entertainment to come to Old Town Leander.
Leander City Council unanimously approved the change Sept. 2. Zoning at 203, 208 and 210 N. Brushy St. is now an urban center zone and transect zone, which is used for higher-density mixed-use development, according to the city. It was previously zoned as general commercial.
Matt Delahoussaye, who represented the developer, said Aug. 19 that plans are to develop a district with bars, restaurants and entertainment venues on the three land parcels. Delahoussay also said the developer is planning to create a restaurant and beer garden at the Davis House, which was recently rezoned for general commercial zoning.
