Drivers can expect more road closures on frontage roads, MoPac and US 183 in 2024 as the US 183 North project progresses, according to an annual update from local transportation authorities in February.
The details
Presented by Construction Manager Bradley Deal, the project review highlighted many portions of the project completed in 2023, as well as what drivers can expect in 2024.
The US 183 North project spans 9 miles of US 183 from SH 45 in the north to MoPac in the south. Costing $612 million, the project broke ground in early 2022 to increase mobility, ease congestion in the area and create more reliable travel times, according to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. Project completion is still on track for 2026, Deal said.
