Throughout the week of July 27, drivers should expect a full week of closures on Harvey Road during the "Big 6" construction.

What you need to know

  • July 27: Full closure of the southbound main lane from Barron Road to William D. Fitch Parkway, 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • Traffic will exit the southbound ramp of William D. Fitch Parkway and re-enter northbound; ramp closures start at 7:30 p.m.
    • The northbound and southbound main lanes from Harvey Road to Rock Prairie Drive will also have a single-lane closure starting for dirt work in the center median starting at 7:30 p.m.
  • July 28: Single-lane closure of the southbound main lane from Harvey Road to Rock Prairie Drive, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • Traffic will be directed to the left lane for dirt work in the center median.
    • A single-lane closure from Barron Road to William D. Fitch Parkway for setting a traffic barrier will also start at 7:30 p.m., and drivers can still access William D. Fitch by exiting south of Barron Road.
  • July 29-31: Single-lane closure of the northbound and southbound main lanes from Harvey Road to Rock Prairie Drive, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The left northbound and southbound main lanes will be closed for dirt work in the center median.
What’s next

The Texas Department of Transportation will be maintaining two open main lanes in each direction during construction. A majority of the work will be on the main lanes, along with the construction of temporary pavement and retaining walls.
