Bryan-College Station will have closures of the north and southbound mainlanes on Briarcrest, along with exit closures on Hwy. 6 throughout the week.
'Big 6' is a long-term TxDOT project along Hwy. 6 through Bryan and College Station, aimed at helping the developing cities deal with growing traffic.
What you need to know
- Aug. 31: Full closure of the northbound mainlanes from Harvey Road to Briarcrest Drive, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- All traffic will exit north of University Drive and re-enter south of Briarcrest. The exit ramps of University and Briarcrest will also be closed.
- Sep. 1: Full closure of the southbound mainlanes from Briarcrest Drive to Harvey Road, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- All traffic will exit south of University Drive and re-enter north of Harvey Road. The exit ramps north of University and Briarcrest will also be closed.
- Sep. 2: Full closure of the southbound mainlanes from Briarcrest Drive to Harvey Mitchell Parkway, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- All traffic will exit south of University Drive and re-enter north of Harvey Mitchell Parkway. The exit ramps of Briarcrest Drive, University Drive, Harvey Road and Southwest Parkway will be closed.
- The northbound Texas Avenue exit ramp will also be closed for paving from 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Sep. 3: Single lane closure of the northbound and southbound mainlanes from Southwest Parkway to Briarcrest Drive, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Both the left northbound and southbound mainlanes will be closed for dirt work in the center median. The northbound Texas Avenue exit ramp will also be closed for a traffic pattern change.
