Brazos County approves salary increases across DA's office, Road & Bridge
Brazos County commissioners approved nearly $160,000 in personnel changes Oct. 5, including salary increases in the District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Court and Road and Bridge Department.
As part of the Road and Bridge Department's request, it received approval to re-establish a Multiple Equipment Operator II position at $31.09 per hour, with an $80,691 budget impact.

Bryan ISD voters to decide on $5.6M tax revenue increase
Bryan ISD voters will decide Nov. 3 whether to approve a tax rate increase that would generate nearly $5.6 million in additional in recurring maintenance and operations, or M&O, revenue for the district.
The proposed voter-approval tax rate election, or VATRE, would increase the district’s M&O tax rate from $0.6769 to $0.6968 per $100 of taxable property value. The total tax rate would increase from $0.9469 to $0.9668, while the $0.2700 interest and sinking rate used for debt service would remain unchanged.

Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo marks 15 years of growth
Fifteen years after the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo began as a regional event, organizers say the annual celebration has grown into a statewide draw and expect this year’s event to continue that momentum.

SURVEY: Waffle House still the most wanted College Station restaurant
Southern breakfast chain Waffle House is still the most requested restaurant in College Station, according to a survey from Grow College Station.
The top 10 businesses voted for were all restaurants, with burger joints making up four of the 10. Other types of restaurants in the top 10 include Chinese, Mexican and seafood restaurants.
