Updated 2:28 p.m. March 4 In a statement to Community Impact, Kyle Greenwood expressed his gratitude to the people of Brazos County.
"This campaign has always been about the citizens of this community, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support, the encouragement, and the conversations we’ve had across the county," Greenwood said. "There are so many volunteers who gave their time to our campaign. I am humbled and honored to have worked with each and every one of them. In addition, thank you to the election workers who made the process run smoothly."
About the potential for a runoff election, Greenwood said he'll "wait for the final certification before making assumptions about what comes next."
"Regardless of the final number, what stands out to me is the level of engagement from Precinct 2 voters in Brazos County," Greenwood said. "People showed up. People paid attention to the issues. And that’s exactly what local democracy should look like."

In a statement sent to Community Impact, Peter Michelena, the Republican nominee for Precinct 4, said he is "extremely grateful for the support I have received from residents in Precinct 4."
"There is definitely a need from Precinct 4 to have more accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility, and I represent that change for the residents," Michelena said. "We have a long road ahead of us to November and I will keep pushing forward to do what is right for Brazos County."

With all 88 precincts reporting, unofficial election results for the Republican primary for Brazos County Commissioner Precinct 2 show Kyle Greenwood with 3,367 votes, or 49.89%, and Jordan Januse with 2,302 votes, or 34.11%.

Jeff Murski currently has 1,080 votes, or 16%, unofficial results show.
If Greenwood cannot obtain a majority ahead of the results being finalized, a runoff between him and Januse will be triggered. If this is the case, a runoff will be scheduled for May 26.
Meanwhile, in the Republican primary for Brazos County Commissioner Precinct 4, Peter Michelena obtained 918 votes, or 64.92%, to Andre Malone's 496, or 35.08%, unofficial results show.
The results mean Michelena will face Democratic incumbent Wanda Watson in November, who won her primary on March 3 against Prentiss Madison. Watson obtained 2,370 votes, or 73.24%, to Madison's 866 votes, or 26.76%.
Results are unofficial until canvassed at a later date.

According to unofficial early voting results from Brazos County, Kyle Greenwood is leading in the Republican primary for Brazos County Commissioner Precinct 2 with 50% of the vote, according to unofficial early voting results. Fellow candidates Jordan Januse and Jeff Murski have 34% and 16% of the vote, respectively. Current Precinct 2 Commissioner Chuck Konderla is not seeking reelection.
In the race for Precinct 4 commissioner, Andrew Malone is leading Peter Michelena in the Republican primary with 65% and incumbent Wanda J. Watson is leading challenger Prentiss E. Madison, Sr. in the Democratic primary with 72% of the vote, per unofficial voting results.
