Prentiss Madison is challenging incumbent Wanda Watson in the Democratic primary to compete in November for the Brazos County Precinct 4 commissioner seat.
The pair faced off in the 2022 primary as well, when Watson won in a runoff election by four votes, according to Brazos County election results.

What will be your biggest priority, if elected?
My biggest priority is strengthening the foundation of Precinct 4: safe roads, reliable drainage, and strong public services. These basics support families, protect neighborhoods, and allow local businesses to grow. I will focus on finishing long-promised projects and using taxpayer dollars clearly and responsibly.
Why are you running for this position?
I am running because Brazos County’s future depends on how well we manage growth today. As a councilman and second-generation business owner, I have seen how policy affects families, jobs, and young people. I want to bring steady leadership to the county level.
What transportation projects would you like to see the county prioritize?
The county should prioritize high-crash corridors, school and campus routes, freight and business corridors, and major connectors serving Bryan and surrounding areas. This includes safer intersections, better drainage along roadways, improved traffic flow, and long-planned regional projects that support mobility and economic activity.
If elected, how would you address the county’s ongoing population growth?
Growth must be planned, not reactive. I will work with cities, schools, and emergency services to match development with roads, drainage, housing, and public safety. New development should help fund needed infrastructure so families and small businesses are not left behind.
How will you involve residents in decisions?
I will hold regular town halls, meet with neighborhood, parent, student, and business groups, and publish clear project updates. Whether you are raising a family, starting a business, or planning your future here, your voice should be heard early and taken seriously.
