Japanese comfort food restaurant Sakura Tokyo has shut its doors in College Station after months of unpaid rent, according to the property manager.
The gist
According to Sakura’s website, the restaurant served a variety of Japanese food types, including ramen, hibachi, yakitori and teriyaki dishes. The restaurant also served kids' meals and appetizers.
Paperwork posted by property manager Oldham Goodwin states Sakura had months of unpaid rent going back to July and was considered delinquent. The paperwork said the tenant was in default by the standards of their agreement.
“Because Tenant has failed to cure its default within the time permitted under the lease, the landlord hereby exercises its rights and remedies under the lease and applicable law," the paperwork said.
