Waco-based family-owned paleteria Helados La Azteca has officially opened across from the Tejas Center in Bryan.
The paleteria has a vibrant atmosphere and a large social media presence as the business expands.
A College Station restaurant known for shawarma and other halal-prepared foods announced it’s relocating to the Northgate District.
Owner Amjad Mohammad told Community Impact the reason for the move was for a better location and to be closer to students on Northgate. Operating in College Station for almost a decade, the move from Texas Avenue to University Drive will have the business sit right across the street from the university.
The Tex-Mex restaurant opened in the former Red Lobster, which had been vacant since 2020. Javi’s original location is in Tyler and has a loyal customer base.
Dubbed the official whiskey of Texas A&M Athletics, Unreined celebrated the grand opening of its new visitor center and rickhouse Aug. 8 at WildHorse Ranch in College Station.

Bryan will soon have its own Lucky Goat location in the Hudson Oaks area. The second Aggieland location will be locally owned and separate from the College Station Lucky Goat.
The long-anticipated grocery store chain announced a fall opening date for its latest location, which is to be located in the former Big Lots in College Station.
Dairy Queen franchisee Smith Dairy Queens announced a new location will open in Bryan by the end of the year. This new location will be the fifth overall in the Bryan-College Station area.
