Popular recreational sport pickleball is getting a new premier complex in Bryan, adding to the numerous pickleball offerings in Aggieland.
The overview
Pickleball is a paddle sport similar to tennis and badminton, but it sees a lot of recreational play in Bryan-College Station.
The city of Bryan has 26 pickleball courts open to the public, along with the Brazos Valley Pickleball Association meeting at courts around the area for open play. The association offers memberships to those who want to attend events throughout the year.
About the project
Pickleball Junction is an 18-court facility with a restaurant and bar, featuring handcrafted dishes and artisan cocktails. The courts will also feature PodPlay, which is software allowing match replays and live scoreboards.
State filings show construction is ongoing at a 1.28-acre lot with a price tag of $3.5 million. This is not a city-affiliated project.
Along with the premier court offerings, Pickleball Junction offers memberships. With different tiers, casual pickleballers and the more dedicated athletes have options to suit their needs. The complex also plans on hosting tournaments, leagues and lessons, according to its website.
What’s next
According to the company’s Instagram, construction began July 3 with the official groundbreaking. Pickleball Junction is scheduled to open early 2027.
