West U extends facilities use task force to mid-September

Some background

The task force is composed of eight residents with differing perspectives on how the West U library, community building and senior center should be used. Their duties include:

• Completing an assessment
• Reporting on the current use of the buildings
• List the use cases
• Produce a report on the functional and technical deficiencies
• Create a list of requirements for the facilities

One more thing

Members of the task force said their survey received 1,200 responses and included over 900 written comments.

The task force will report back with recommendations to the city, tentatively at the end of its contract Sept. 14.
