A Houston luxury multifamily building near Rice University called The Langley completed construction in early July and began leasing units for close to $10,000.
The overview
The Langley is a 20-story residential high-rise developed by StreetLights Residential and Hunt Real Estate that features 134 luxury residences, according to a July 8 news release.
Located at 1717 Bissonnet St. near Rice University, the high-rise offers eight residences per floor with two- and three-bedroom homes ranging from approximately 2,165 to 3,396 square feet.

"The decision to limit each floor to eight homes fundamentally shaped the character of the building," Chief Design Officer Vincent Hunter said in the release. "Residents experience quieter corridors, shorter elevator waits, greater privacy and a stronger sense of community."
Amenities include expansive terraces, 10- to 12-foot ceilings, oak flooring and natural stone finishes, as well as walk-in closets, private balconies and smart-home technology. Per the release, outdoor amenities also include a pool deck with cabanas, grilling areas, landscaped paseos and a dual-fuel pizza oven.
More details
The design of The Langley draws inspiration from the neighboring campuses and streets surrounding Rice University, project officials said. The units incorporate materials such as brick, stone and custom metalwork and showcase vertical windows, gas lanterns and landscaped gardens.

"The Langley was conceived around the belief that beautiful places lift the human spirit," said Stephen Meek, senior vice president of Development at StreetLights Residential. "Guided by timeless architectural principles and a deep respect for its surroundings, every design decision was made to enhance the resident experience."
