A nearly 12,000-square-foot Ace Hardware store is coming to the Bellaire Triangle, owner Brian Brown confirmed.
The specifics
The tool shop, set to be outfitted with an on-site novelty boutique, will move into the space formerly occupied by CVS Pharmacy at 5430 Bissonnet St., Bellaire. Its anticipated opening date is sometime between later this year and early 2027, Brown said.
According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, the building’s construction is estimated to cost around $500,000 to complete.
The Bellaire Ace Hardware store will be Brown’s second location. His original store is located in the Spring Branch area at 7840 Long Point Road, Houston.
What to expect
Ace Hardware offers a wide selection of core hardware products and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, basic hardware, plumbing goods, electrical and automotive parts, grilling units, outdoor power equipment, gardening supplies, coolers and more, per its website.
Among its in-store services, Brown said that his current location is known for its detailed monogramming service, which allows customers to engrave personal YETI tumblers, corporate gifts and cutting boards. Patrons can expect to see this, along with local farm goods such as jams and honeys, at the upcoming Bellaire location.
Diving in deeper
Brown told Community Impact that the majority of Ace Hardware stores are independently owned and operated by local entrepreneurs, his own stores included. To him, being able to represent a large brand but still maintain a local footprint in the areas where his storefronts are located is what sets Ace Hardware apart from other retailers.
“Very similar to my location in Spring Branch, we will have a gift shop boutique attached to the hardware piece, and I think that’s what makes Ace really unique,” Brown said. “We have chainsaws and barbecue grills, nuts, bolts, paint, candles, baby clothes and jewelry all at the same time.”
Brown operates his Spring Branch location with help from his wife, Virginia, and described his business as being family-run. He said he looks forward to bringing his services to the city of Bellaire in the coming months.
“Bellaire hasn’t had a hardware store in a while, and people here love their yards. So, I think it’s going to be great,” he said.
