Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams: The fourth Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams location is coming to Rice Village. Flavors include burnt orange dreamsicle, double dough chocolate chip cookie dough, green mint peppermint cream, Boston cream pie, and frose sorbet, which is a sangria-style frozen rose flavor. Jeni's also serves seasonal flavors and special collection pints.

Hudson House: Dallas-based Vanderlay Hospitality Group opened its first Houston location in River Oaks last fall at 1966 W. Gray St., Houston. While the opening date has not been disclosed for the Rice Village location, General Manager Aj Jennings confirmed in an email that the new restaurant is currently under construction at the former Victoria's Secret location on University Boulevard. Lunch, dinner and weekend brunch will be offered, according to the restaurant's website.

Paper Source: A new Paper Source location is now open in Rice Village that offers sustainable, artisanal paper products. The Kelvin Street store opened in June, Jennings said in an email. Products include calendars, journals, pens, notepads, planners, candles, home decor and personalized gifts. Paper Source retail specialists also work on creating paper products for special events, including wedding invitations.
