League City officials set the maximum tax rate for fiscal year 2026-27 at the no-new-revenue rate of $0.356505 per $100 valuation of a home.
The no-new-revenue tax rate is the 2026 tax rate that will raise the same amount of property tax revenue for the city from the same properties year over year.

League City City Council voted unanimously at its Aug. 11 meeting to propose the no-new-revenue rate, marking the 12th consecutive year the city’s property tax rate has decreased.
Diving in deeper
In tandem with the consecutive annual lowering of the tax rate, League City’s total taxable value has increased year over year. However, according to city documents, the total taxable value has dropped over the past two years.

“I do want to say thank you to the staff for working so hard to get that no-new-revenue budget,” Mayor Nick Long said at the meeting.
What happens next?
City Council will hear and adopt the first reading of the budget at its Aug. 25 meeting and vote on the second and final reading for the budget and the tax rate at its Sept. 8 meeting, per city documents.
