Seabrook officials warn of feral hogs

Seabrook Animal Control officials are warning residents to watch out for feral hogs after many residents reported spotting several at Wildlife Park off Red Bluff Road.

While feral hog sightings are not unusual for the area, they may cause concern to residents, according to a city news release.

Residents who use Seabrook's trails should be observant. Most of the time, feral hogs will not bother anyone who does not bother them, the release reads.

Residents should not attempt to approach or feed the hogs. Hogs, especially mothers, are known to charge if provoked or threatened, per the release.

Seabrook officials said residents should not shoot at the hogs as firing weapons violates city ordinances.

Residents who have seen feral hogs in neighborhoods or charge at people or pets should contact Seabrook Animal Control by calling 281-291-5610. Feral hogs do not need to be reported if they are not near personal property or threatening anyone, according to the release.
