HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the hospital's new blood cancer unit at the beginning of June.

The Webster unit will be the only blood cancer unit south of the Texas Medical Center, providing high-quality cancer care and stem cell transplants, according to a news release from the hospital.
The unit is part of the hospital's Blood Cancer and Cell Therapies Program, which provides diagnosis, care and treatment for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, including access to stem cell transplants.
What else?
According to the release, the space will include:
- Private treatment rooms to support comfort and reduce exposure risk for immunocompromised patient
- Enhanced infection-prevention design elements, such as specialized room airflow and easily cleaned surface
- Dedicated clinical space for specialized care teams and transplant coordination
- Built-in technology to support telehealth visits, care updates and patient education
The program will be led by Dr. Ram Kamble, hematology and oncology specialist, and will bring together local access and national expertise through collaboration with Texas Oncology and the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network.
