The College of the Mainland in Texas City will host a grand opening celebration for a new public safety careers building in September, according to an Aug. 11 news release from the college.

The new facility building will house the college's fire technology, emergency medical services and criminal justice programs, according to the release. The building will feature a firing range, climbing tower and EMS simulation rooms.
At the grand opening celebration in September, guests will be able to tour the facility and learn more about the innovative training spaces. The event will take place from 3-5 p.m.
