A wave of new dining options is headed to Bastrop as several restaurants prepare to open at a 75-acre mixed-use development along SH 71 called Sendero—expanding choices for residents with everything from coffee and sandwiches to steaks and Tex-Mex.
1. Chuy’s
The Austin-founded restaurant offers Tex-Mex menu items such as enchiladas, fajitas, flautas and house specialties like the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo, which includes beef, chicken and cheese enchiladas, a crispy taco, tostada chips and queso.
2. Crust Pizza. Co.
The restaurant will bring Chicago-style thin-crust pizzas alongside a wide variety of appetizers, pastas and desserts to Sendero.
3. Einstein Bros. Bagels
The chain eatery is best known for its freshly baked bagels, sandwiches, coffees and other baked goods.
4. Jersey Mike’s Subs
The East Coast-style sandwich shop serves nearly 30 hot and cold sandwiches.
5. McDonald’s
The fast food chain is known for its popular menu items, including the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder, and has an existing location at 496 SH 71 W., Bastrop.

6. Scooters Coffee
The drive-thru coffee franchise offers hot and iced drinks, including coffee, teas, lemonades and Red Bull infusions, as well as baked goods.
7. The Toasted Yolk Cafe
The breakfast and lunch chain offers a variety of meals—including brisket tacos, breakfast burritos, and chicken and waffles.
8. Texas Roadhouse
The restaurant offers hand-cut steaks, ribs, various scratch-made sides and whipped honey cinnamon butter served with fresh-baked dinner rolls.
