The Drowsy Chaperone at the Bastrop Opera House
Bastrop’s award-winning opera house hosts a night of music and comedy. Directed by Kelsey Layton, the musical performance features song and dance performances by local talents. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Bastrop Opera House website.

The community will celebrate the completion of the new Delgado Park mural of the park’s namesake, civil rights advocate Minerva Delgado Lopez. Delgado is remembered for her and her family’s role as the plaintiff in the Delgado v. BISD case in 1948 which found the segregation of Mexican-American students in public schools unlawful. The artwork was commissioned by the city of Bastrop and completed by local artist Curtis Griffin.
