According to unofficial results from Hays County officials, Marty Kanetzky has won the District 5 seat on the Hays CISD Board of Trustees with 60.36 percent of the vote. Debbie Munoz, Kanetzky's challenger, received 39.64 percent of the vote.
Results are unofficial until canvassed.

According to early voting results, Marty Kanetzky is leading the race for the District 5 seat on the Hays CISD Board of Trustees.
Kanetzky is leading challenger Debbie Munoz with 61 percent of the early vote, which amounts to 139 votes, to Munoz' 39 percent, which amounts to 88 votes.
Kanetzky described herself as "a consistent advocate for raising academic expectations for all our students, accountability at every level, recognizing that learning is not a "one size fits all" experience, making more effective use of technology in our schools and better stewardship of taxpayer dollars."
Kanetzky has served on the board since 2010.
Merideth Keller was running unopposed for the District 4 seat. That election was called in March.
