Candidates for the District 7 seat on Georgetown City Council have so far raised more than $22,000 in campaign contributions ahead of the May 4 election, according to 30-day finance reports filed April 4.
Jaquita Wilson, who is challenging District 7 incumbent Tommy Gonzalez, leads fundraising efforts among all candidates in the three contested races for City Council.
Wilson reported $12,695 in contributions on her April 4 report. Gonzalez reported $9,450.08 in contributions to his campaign.
Early voting runs April 22-30. Election day is May 4.
Council members are elected to serve three-year terms by voters from individual districts.
