Eighth Annual Turtle Racing at Little Woodrow's

Every Thursday for the next 12 weeks, Little Woodrow's Southpark Meadows will host its eighth annual turtle racing event. The Little Woodrow's Turtle Guy, comedian Adam Shumate, and his wranglers bring a group of turtles into a ring to race. Fans pick their winning turtle by selecting the cards with the turtle’s name and race numbers. When it’s race time, Shumate solicits crowd participation by selecting someone to start the race. The chosen volunteer gets to lift a bucket that releases the group of turtles. Free.

8 p.m. Little Woodrow's Southpark Meadows, 9500 I-35, Ste. 100, Austin. 512-282-2336. www.facebook.com/events/1828635290796329
