The Dripping Springs ISD board of trustees voted to approve Angela Gamez as the next principal of Dripping Springs High School at a special meeting on April 1.

According to a news release by the district, Gamez presently serves as an assistant principal at Dripping Springs High, with duties including instructional supervision of English, science and languages, scheduling, discipline and managing advanced placement and gifted programs.

The board’s approval of Gamez came in response to a recommendation from Superintendent Bruce Gearing, who said that “her vision for supporting student success aligns closely with the district’s mission and vision.”

Gamez will replace the Principal Joe Burns after his retirement at the end of the current school year.
