Garza Ranch development progresses in South Austin along MoPac

What we reported

Construction continues on the 34-acre mixed-use Garza Ranch development, which is located on Ben Garza Lane near the northeast corner of the William Cannon Drive and MoPac intersection in South Austin.

Brandywine Realty Trust, the project’s landlord and developer, announced in April 2018 three partners that will be housed on-site.

SHI International, a global provider of information technology, is developing an office building that will serve as its national headquarters. Trammell Crow Residential, a multifamily real estate company, is developing 370 apartment units. Pathfinder Development, a Texas-based hotel development and management company, is developing a 140-room Aloft hotel.

The latest

Work is underway on an outdoor gathering space, and apartments are on track to be completed by the end of the year, said William D. Redd, a senior managing director for Brandywine
Realty Trust.

The leasing office for the development will be built by late spring 2019.

SHI International construction is also underway and the Aloft hotel will break ground this spring, with full build-out anticipated by spring 2020, he said.

The final aspect of the project will be the construction of a second office building. Redd said developers hope to break ground in late summer or early fall, and they are working to finalize tenants.
