Eco-friendly housing development slated for fall completion
Homes in the Autumn Woods development will include rooftop solar arrays and other green features.
Autumn Woods, an eco-friendly community of single-family homes in Southwest Austin, will be complete this fall, according to its developer Aaron Levy of Townbridge Homes.
Nine homes are fully constructed and ready to be placed on the market. The development is located near multiple restaurants and shopping centers, Levy said.
“I love South Austin,” he said. “It was a great opportunity that we found land here.”
The community is located at 2600 Drew Lane near Old Manchaca Road and Slaughter Lane. Each of the cottage-style homes will include multiple “green” features, such as a rooftop solar arrays, hybrid heat-pump water heaters, variable-speed HVAC systems, LED lighting and more. Multiple floor plans will range in size between 1,600-1,900 square feet, Levy said.
Townbridge Homes is also working on another 30-home development similar to Autumn Woods at William Cannon Drive and S. First Street.
“I think we have a social responsibility to conserve and be as eco-friendly as possible,” Levy said. “We need to be more self-conscious and try to minimize our carbon footprint.”
