The 2016 Mobility Bond pop-in events kick off this weekend with 10 community outreach sessions open to the public, two of which will be held in the city council District 5. A number of other family-friendly events will be going on this weekend including a mini-living wall workshop at Articulture Designs and a luau at Gibson Street Bar.

District 5 Community Outreach: 2016 Mobility Bond Corridor Program

The city of Austin is hosting 10 pop-in events along corridors slated to receive funding for transportation projects in an effort to educate residents about the 2016 Mobility Bond Program. Residents may submit feedback on the program and ask questions. Information will be provided in both English and Spanish. Free.

World of Opportunities Expo: Making Cents of the System

The Expo, hosted by Marbridge, will provide parents the knowledge and assistance they need to effectively advocate on behalf of their children with special needs. Industry experts will be on site to talk with parents about the financial, legal and governmental considerations needed to provide long-term care for special needs individuals. Free.

Sustainable Food Center fall 2017 class preview

Staff will discuss and demonstrate a few of the lessons available this fall including home cooking, cooking with spices, sushi 101, beekeeping and Intro to Food Gardening. Those who register for fall classes during the event will receive a 15 percent discount. Attendance is free, but registration is required.

Monet Maker series: latte bowl workshop
