Travis County Commissioners Court voted Tuesday to extend an offer to a candidate for county executive for emergency services.
County officials are not releasing information about the candidate, contingent upon the candidate's acceptance of the offer.
Travis County's Emergency Services Department plans and coordinates the delivery of emergency services within the county, including fire, medical investigations, air emergency medical transport, and search and rescue. The new executive will join a contract specialist, financial analyst lead, executive assistant and public information officer in the Emergency Services Department.
The executive oversees the offices of
Emergency Management,
Fire Marshal,
Technology and Communications and
STAR Flight. The official also serves as a liaison to the commissioners court, the
Medical Examiner’s Office and the county's 14
emergency services districts.
The new executive will replace Josh Davies, who served in the role from January 2017 until late spring 2018.
