The details
Over the next several months, crews will stabilize the bridge walls with soil nails and sprayed concrete. After that, crews will replace the sidewalk, repair the pavement and reconstruct the curbs and gutters, and install a traffic barrier and privacy fence that will extend from Cannonleague Drive to the west end of the bridge.
The project will cost about $5 million and be paid for with emergency funding through the Transportation and Public Works Department.
What’s next
The Capital Area Delivery Services project team will schedule a meeting with local residents to field questions in the coming months. The next phase is expected to be completed in April.
