A project to reconstruct part of Stassney Lane was completed in late November.

The Stassney Lane Reconstruction Project was completed over a month prior to its estimated completion of Dec. 27. In addition, the project was completed at about $1.2 million under budget.

"The Stassney Lane Reconstruction Project's early completion is an exciting achievement for our community,” council member Vanessa Fuentes said in a statement. “It reflects the city's dedication to efficient project delivery while ensuring our needs are promptly met."

The project spanned from Teri Lane to Burleson Road and included roadway resurfacing, modernized traffic signal systems, the inclusion of shared-use paths, sidewalks compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, street reconstruction and new pedestrian crossings.

Stassney Lane’s reconstruction was funded by the voter-approved 2018 bond, which set aside $66.5 million of its total $925 million for street reconstruction.
