The Dripping Springs Building Department as well as the Planning and Development Department will leave city hall to operate out of a new building May 1.

The overview

Both departments will move to the former Pedernales Electric Cooperative building, 661 W. Hwy. 290, Dripping Springs. The location will be called the Development Services Division of the City.

City hall is no longer big enough to house the departments, so moving to a new building will provide more space, city officials said.

Building department officials handle building permits while planning and development department officials oversee permits as well as manage growth and development in the city. City officials said they don’t expect any service interruptions to occur due to the move.

Quote of note

"As our city continues to grow and evolve, it is crucial that our planning and building departments have the space and resources needed to support this development,” Deputy City Administrator Ginger Faught said in a news release. “The move to our new building will enable us to provide even better service to our community."
