Dripping Springs City Council will vote on whether to approve an ordinance to cancel the May 6 election during a City Council meeting Feb. 21.

The May election was initially called for the purpose of re-electing three positions in May: council member Place 1, council member Place 2 and council member Place 4.

The candidates who were up for re-election include Taline Manassian for Place 1, Geoffery Tahuahua for Place 3 and Sherrie Parks for Place 5.

Filing deadlines for placement on the ballot and write-in candidacy Feb. 17 have passed, meaning no candidate on the ballot is opposed for election to office.

If passed, the ordinance would declare that each candidate is elected to office, and due to no propositions to appear on the May ballot, the election is canceled.
