"We are grateful for our relationship with Circuit of the Americas and their support of Dell Children's Foundation with the May 16 Dell Children's Bike Night," said Adam Bauman, vice president of orthopedics and sports performance for Ascension Texas, in a news release. "We look forward to a fun night for a great cause, with a focus on health, wellness and family.”
Using the Strava app, participants will record their laps during the charity event. Afterward, COTA will donate $1 for each lap logged between 6 p.m. and sunset.
Since 1996, Dell Children's Foundation has raised more than $252 million for Central Texas patients.
"Between logging laps and grabbing a post-ride bite to eat at one of many local food trucks, support the more than 1.7 million pediatric patients that have received help from Dell Children's Medical Center," COTA Public Relations Director Cady Chow said in the news release.
