Travis County recorded a 6.69% early-voting turnout rate ahead of the May 6 election offering Austin voters a chance to have their voices heard regarding the police oversight issue.

The results

During early voting, which ran from April 24-May 2, a total of 50,350 voters cast ballots by mail or at one of the early-voting polling locations countywide, according to data from the Travis County Clerk's Office. The majority, 48,866, cast their votes in person, while 1,484 submitted their votes by mail.

What to expect


On election day May 6, dozens of polling places will be open throughout the county. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. More information, including sample ballots, can be found on the county clerk's website.
