DSISD officials will receive $19,500 from the county, allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act, according to district documents.

The funds will be used to train staff in emergency response that will be given by the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, a nonprofit that provides crisis response training to organizations.

In a letter to the Hays County Office of Emergency Services, DSISD Director of Safety Sirenna Cumberland said the reunification training is “crucial” for school staff and first responders.
