Items worth mentioning
During a board of trustees meeting March 25, the board approved the following items related to 2023 bond projects:
- Replacement of the floor in the competition gym—one of three gymnasiums at Dripping Springs High School—for a total project cost not to exceed $235,000
- Replacement of lighting in all three gymnasiums at DSHS to LED lighting for a total project cost not to exceed $115,000
- Setup of a new elementary school’s internet connection at a cost to not exceed $888,000
- Construction documents, including a project schedule and site plans, for the Dripping Springs Elementary School and Dripping Springs Middle School renovations
On Feb. 16, district officials broke ground on the Sycamore Springs Middle School expansion project, which will increase the school’s capacity from 850 students to 1,200.
During a Feb. 26 board meeting, trustees approved the following items related to 2023 bond projects:
- A contract with American Constructors to repair the sidewalk near the DSHS Tennis Center estimated at $88,000
- Construction documents for the new elementary school project
