Austin ISD officials will offer a career fair June 24 at the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, 2309 Panther Trail, Austin.

What's happening

AISD Media Relations Specialist Nayeli Santoyo said the district is seeking to fill open staff positions for transportation, food services, warehouse, facilities and maintenance, police departments and more. In addition, there are open teacher positions for the upcoming school year.

The breakdown


Bus drivers start at $25 per hour, and classified staffs start at $20 per hour. Teachers start at $55,844 per year, and some are eligible for stipends and sign-on bonuses. The stipends for the 2023-24 school year include:
  • Bilingual stipend
    • $7,000 a year for bilingual classroom teachers
  • Special education stipend
    • $7,000 a year for special education classroom teachers
  • Advanced degree teacher stipend
    • $1,000 for teachers who hold a master's degree or higher
  • National board-certified teacher stipend
Sign-on bonuses include:
  • $3,000 bonus for newly hired special education classroom teachers
  • $1,000 bonus for newly hired special education teacher assistants
  • $1,500 bonus for newly hired bilingual classroom teachers
  • $3,000 bonus for newly hired educational diagnosticians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, licensed specialists in school psychology and speech language pathologists
