The winter storm warning was issued starting at 9 a.m. Jan. 30 through noon Feb. 1. It is expected to bring with it seasonably cold weather along with freezing rain and ice.
According to the National Weather Service, once the sun goes down, temperatures are likely to drop below freezing along parts of the I-35 corridor. The potential for ice on the roadways—especially bridges and other elevated surfaces—is also high for Jan. 31.
School officials said classes will be dismissed at normal times throughout the district Jan. 30.
