The filing period for Dripping Springs ISD’s board of trustees election opened Jan. 19.

Two seats held by Marisa Grijalva and Joanna Day will be on the ballot May 7. Both trustees are serving their first term on the board after being elected in May 2019. Day was elected vice president in August 2021.

Those interested in joining the school board can submit applications until 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18. Eligibility requirements and application forms can be found on the district’s website.

DSISD trustees serve three-year terms. Candidates are elected by popular vote and do not represent specific locations within the school district.

More information on voting schedules and locations is pending.

Superintendent Holly Morris-Kuentz will host an informational Candidates Academy for prospective school board members on Feb. 3 in the DSISD Administration Building. A time will be announced at a later date.
