Mark Williams, an Austin Community College board member who is currently serving as vice chair of the board, has withdrawn his name from contention for Place 1 on this November’s ballot.

Williams was elected to the board in November 2014, servings as board secretary from 2017-18 and as vice chair since 2019. He previously served as an Austin ISD trustee as well, from 2004-12, part of that time as board president.

According to the district, all three races on the upcoming November ballot are now unopposed.

Challenger Dana Walker will fill the Place 1 position. Current board Chair Gigi Edwards Bryant will hold onto Place 2, where she has served since 2014. Incumbent Nan McRaven, who was first voted to the board in 2002, will continue serving in Place 3.

All ACC board positions are at-large seats, and terms run for six years.
